Kenya Wildlife Trust

The Kenya Wildlife Trust (KWT) is a conservation organisation passionate about conserving Kenya's rich natural heritage through the creation of Community Wildlife Conservancies. KWT was founded by a small group of companies specialising in privately guided safaris and mobile camps most notably in the Mara, Amboseli and Samburu ecosystems. In collaboration with the conservancies the Trust has taken various steps to reduce the human-wildlife conflict that has arisen between carnivores and the communities and supports carefully conceived and executed monitoring and research programmes. Kenya's lion population is now less than 2,000 individuals. Their Grass-root community projects include schools, eye clinics and creating better opportunities through higher education and specialised training for young Kenyans to become wildlife managers, researchers and professional safari guides. In a relatively short time the KWT has made a remarkable contribution to Kenya's wildlife and the related communities.
