Chad has never been on my bucket list, however it is now! I have just returned from Zakouma, the park run by the fantastic African Parks – a wildlife organization which I have no hesitation in praising at every opportunity. What they have accomplished in Zakouma could truly serve as a model all over Africa.

Right up in the Matthews mountains in Kenya's Northern Frontier are the extraordinary singing wells of the Samburu people.
In the height of the dry season, the Samburu will drive their livestock 50 or 60 miles to water them here.

The Bazaruto Archipelago was formed, adjacent to Vilanculos on the mainland, thousands of years ago when sand was deposited by the floodwaters of the Limpopo River. This archipelago comprises of five islands: Bazaruto, Benguerra, Maraque, Banque and Santa Carolina, and forms part of a conservation project committed to maintaining the ecology and sustainability of natural flora and fauna resources, both terrestrial and marine.
